BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Jeffrey R. Lewis, President and CEO
Jeffrey Lewis has spent his professional life working in both the public and private sectors as a healthcare leader. Currently, he serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Health Endowment (LHE). Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the St. Paul’s Foundation Healthcare Project Advisory Board, President of the Institute for Healthcare Innovation, the Chief Operating Officer of a national Pharmacy Benefits Manager, and, for 20 years, President of the Heinz Family Philanthropies and Chief of Staff for Teresa Heinz.
In the public sector, he served in a number of senior positions in the United States Senate, including Republican Staff Director for the United States Special Committee on Aging for the late U.S. Senator John Heinz (R.-Pa.), senior legislative staff for U.S. Senator Bob Packwood (R.-Or.) and U.S. Senator Pete Domenici (R.-NM). Additionally, he worked in the Reagan Administration as a consultant on pension policy for Assistant Secretary of Labor. He also served as an Assistant to Governor Vic Atiyeh, the last Republican Governor of Oregon.
Linda Stuhmer, COO and Executive Vice President
Linda Stuhmer was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of EMC Health on August 1, 2014. Prior to that appointment, she served as the Vice President and General Counsel for the Emanuel Medical Center; a senior attorney with Medicis (independent specialty pharmaceutical company), and Assistant General Counsel for Agouron/Pfizer.
With almost 30 years of experience in representing businesses and non-profits, her wealth of knowledge will help guide the operations of the EMC Health Foundation.
Lawrence P. Anderson, Treasurer
Lawrence Anderson spent more than 40 years, with responsibilities that include senior management positions in sales, marketing, investment management, research, and administration. Before retiring in 2018, he served as EVP of Finance for Covenant Ministries of Benevolence (CMB) and previously worked for numerous global financial institutions. His former client base included large multi-national banks, investment managers, and endowments funds. At CMB, he was responsible for the investments of the operating, endowment and pension reserves.
David Dwight, Trustee
David Dwight began working with Covenant Retirement Communities in 1980. He served in various capacities, including Campus Administrator and Vice President of Operations, before becoming President in 2002. David retired in 2017 and is enjoying his retirement days. David served on several nonprofit boards related to CMB, including Swedish Covenant Hospital, Covenant Retirement Communities, and Emanuel Medical Center.
Separately, he served as a board member of the Axelson Center for Non-Profit Management, The Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation and the Covenant Harbor Camp Foundation. He received his BA from North Park University, an MSW from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Loyola University.
Dr. Carrie Janiski, DO, Trustee
Dr. Carrie Janiski is the Director of Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Romeo Medical Clinic in Turlock, CA. She specializes in Sports Medicine, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Occupational Health and Family Medicine. She is the head Sports Medicine physician for Golden Valley Health Centers. Dr. Carrie is the head team physician for California State University Stanislaus and John H Pitman High School.
She is a certified yoga instructor (RYT-200) through the Baptiste Institute, she teaches yoga weekly at Warrior Yoga Turlock and enjoys integrating medicine and wellness to help others move toward their own personal experiences of growth and health.
